The Harbor Country Singers will sponsor a second Summer Sing-Along on Thursday, July 30 at 6:30pm (eastern). All are invited to join in the sing-along, which will be held at the Three Oaks Arts & Education Center.
Pat Putnam, producer of Singers events, says support for future sing-alongs was strong when the community event premiered in late June. The July 30 sing-along will feature popular Broadway songs. “We’ll be singing everyone’s favorite show tunes like ‘There’s No Business Like Show Business’ from Annie Get Your Gun; ‘Sunrise, Sunset’ from Fiddler on the Roof and ‘Getting to Know You’ from The King and I.”
School of American Music Guitar Instructor Ron Spears will provide accompaniment, and other guitarists are invited to bring their instruments and play along. Putnam and SAM Executive Director and Voice Instructor Donna Mitchell will lead the singing.
The Singers will follow social distancing guidelines for this event, and will provide face shields on request. Sanitized chairs from the Arts & Education Center will be available, or attendees can bring their own lawn chairs. The Singers will distribute music and lyrics, but the ability to read music is not required in order to participate in the sing-along.
The Harbor Country Singers is a program of the School of American Music, and is supported by a grant from the Pokagon Fund. The Arts & Education Center is located at 14 Maple Street in downtown Three Oaks, Mich. Rain date is the following Thursday, August 6, same time.
