The School of American Music (SAM) is offering a new children’s program called Fun ‘n Fairy Tales at its Arts & Education Center in Three Oaks, Mich. Targeted at kids ages four to six, the program will teach literacy, acting and movement. Fun ‘n Fairy Tales runs Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10-10:45am edt starting July 9 and running throughout the month, for a total of six sessions.
Leading the program is Carrie Ehlert, a 12-year veteran of early childhood education at the Three Oaks Elementary School and Blessed Beginnings Pre-School. Ehlert is also Theater Director at the River Valley Middle/High School. She recently directed Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, acted by local students. She produced Three Oaks against the World for the Three Oaks Sesquicentennial and co-directed Pinocchio for the Harbor Country Radio Theater.
To register, call 269-469-1191. Deadline for registration is July 8. Cost for all six sessions is $50, due by the first session on July 9. There is a six-student minimum in order for the program to run. The Arts & Education Center is located at 14 Maple Street in downtown Three Oaks.
